Temporary exhibition: The Cup Factory

Discover how the FIFA World Cup is made

EVENT 31 Jan, 2016

From 15 June the rossonero Mondo Milan museum will be hosting a temporary exhibition dedicated to the glorious FIFA WORLD CUP trophy.

The temporary exhibition dedicated to the glorious FIFA WORLD CUP is postponed until the 30th of April.

The exhibition illustrates the origins of the trophies produced for the prestigious FIFA and UEFA football federations since 1971 by GDE Bertoni, in particular those by sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga.

For the first time the original sketches, the wax and plaster models, the prints and the machines with which these trophies were produced are on display at  Mondo Milan Museum.

Visitors will be able to see the top-quality craftsmanship that went into the production of these cups as well as the trophies themselves, which will be exhibited in a specially designed celebratory space. The trophies on show will include the World Cup won by Italy in Berlin in 2006.

The exhibition is divided into four separate display areas:

- Design

- Production

- Triumph

- The spread of the product

Curated by Studio Fabio Novembre, the exhibition space will be open to the public until the 30th of April: don't miss it!
